Dry skin? Oily skin? Rough Skin? No problem. Here are 5 of our favorite masks for various skin types.

Colloidal Oatmeal Mask for Eczema
- 1 Tablespoon Colloidal Oatmeal
- 1 Teapsoon Organic Honey
- 1/2 Teaspoon Coconut Water
Colloidal oatmeal has long been known for its skin benefits. It has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce the effects of mild eczema and acne. The honey also helps with its antibacterial properties. If you want your mask to have a little more exfoliating power, add in some regular oatmeal to the colloidal mix. Coconut water can be subbed out for regular water if you wish. It's mostly for consistincy.
Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Apply a thing layer and let sit for 10 mins. Rinse and pat dry, repeat daily as needed.
Greek Yogurt Mask for Dry Skin
- 1 Tablespoon Organic Greek Yogurt
- 1 Teaspoon of Organic Honey
- 1 Teaspoon of Colloidal Oatmeal
This mask is designed for those with dry, rough skin. The colloidal oatmeal does all the fantastic things from the previous recipe. The real game changer here is the organic greek yogurt. Greek Yogurt feels immediately soothing to the skin. It contains lactic acid to help soften the top layer of skin. Combine this with the antibacterial honey and anti-inflammatory oatmeal and you have a super charged mask!
Take all the ingredients and mix them in a bowl. Apply a medium amount of the mixture to your face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and you should feel the immediate effects of the greek yogurt leaving your skin baby soft!

Avocado Mask for Dry Skin
- 1 Avocado
- 2 Tablespoons of Organic Greek Yogurt
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Organic Honey
If our first dry skin recipe didn't moisturerise as much as you'd like, this one is for you. Crack open that avocado and put it in a bowl. Mix it together with all the other ingredients until you have a consistent paste. Apply a thin layer to your face and let sit for 10-15 mins. This mix tends to be a little sticky so be careful when applying.
We've already talked about how great greek yogurt and honey are for your skin. Avocados are the magic ingredient here. Avocados have a ton of omega fatty acids and the olive oil helps that good stuff get into your skin. Rinse well when finished.
Oatmeal Mask for Oily Skin
- 1/2 Cup Cooked Oatmeal
- 1 Organic Egg
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
This mask contains oatmeal but is formulated for oily skin instead. Cook up 1/2 cup of oatmeal and let it cool down to room temperature. Crack a raw organic egg and add it to the oatmeal. Next add in a tablespoon of lemon juice and mix well.
Lemon contains alpha hydroxy acids. These are natural chemicals that help loosen and remove dead skin cells from the top layer of skin. It also helps remove existing oil from your skin. The egg will help tighten your skin. This reduces the size of pores making it harder for blackheads to form. Combine both of these with the soothing properties of oatmeal and you have a powerful face mask!
Apply a thin layer while gently massaging the mask into your skin. Let sit for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water when finished.

Smoothing Aloe Mask
- 2 Tablespoons of Aloe or Aloe Vera Gel
- 1 Tablespoons of Matcha Green Tea Powder
- Optional: A Drop of Tea Tree Essential Oil
The goal of this mask is to be as soothing as possible while reducing inflammation. Fresh aloe straight from the plant works best, but aloe vera gel is great too. You'll immediately notice the cooling effect of aloe. The matcha green tea powder can be found at most stores. It's a well known style of tea from China, traditionally stone ground. It can help reduce redness in skin, as well as having anti-inflammatory properties.
Tea tree essential oil is well known for being antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. Normally, it's too strong to apply directly to your skin. Using only a drop will be plenty for our mix. You can always add more but be careful.
Basic Instructions
All face masks follow the same basic instructions. Combine everything in a bowl and mix well. You're aiming for a paste like consistincy. Apply a thin to medium layer and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water when finished. Since most of these masks include natural ingredients with no preservatives, they should be considered one time use only. There are ways to store facial masks, but unless you're selling them we don't think it's worth the hassle.
Face masks are pretty flexible in terms of ingredients. Things like Organic Greek Yogurt and Organic Honey can be substituted with plain yogurt and regular honey. However, you want to try and use the natural stuff if you can. The less an ingredient is processed, the better it is for your skin.
